GEICO has opened 500 new jobs in North Texas as part of an ongoing expansion of its commercial insurance operations.

At a ceremony marking the development, the company detailed that 300 of the new roles will be based in its Richardson office. This location has been established as a central hub for serving GEICO’s small business customers, complementing other facilities in Katy, Texas, and Fredericksburg, Virginia. The remaining 200 positions will support sales, service, and claims across the insurer’s broader business lines.

The expansion is tied to recent growth in GEICO’s commercial insurance sector, which has seen increased demand over the past 18 months, partly due to the introduction of new products like long-haul trucking insurance.

The additional positions aim to accommodate this growth and enhance the company’s ability to serve its expanding customer base among small businesses.

Jason Andrukonis, GEICO’s head of commercial insurance operations, emphasized the strategic advantages of North Texas for the company’s expansion. He noted the region's strong business environment and talent pool, positioning it as a key area for growth within the $300 billion commercial insurance market.

“We consider our investment today a down payment that will help position GEICO to become the premier destination for all small business insurance. These teams will help small businesses across the country save money and protect their livelihoods,” said Andrukonis

Richardson Mayor Bob Dubey highlighted the benefits of GEICO’s investment in the community, citing the city’s ongoing efforts to foster a supportive environment for both businesses and residents.

He said that the insurer’s decision to grow its operations in Richardson demonstrates the city’s economic appeal and its commitment to attracting opportunities that enhance local economic and workforce development.

"Our focus remains on building a community where businesses and residents alike can thrive, supported by amenities that foster growth and success. This announcement is a strong indicator that our efforts are paying off—enhancing our local economy and workforce while attracting new opportunities for growth and expansion,” added Dubey.

GEICO is currently hiring for roles in commercial insurance sales and service, as well as offering leadership development programs for candidates pursuing management positions.
