Gallagher Bassett announced the appointment of Irina Simpson as executive vice president of Worker’s Compensation, and Ajay Sinha as managing director of the Captive Practice.
The move aligns with Gallagher Bassett’s focus on expanding leadership within its core teams as the company continues to navigate a shifting insurance landscape.
Simpson steps into her new role with experiences in claims management and a background in process enhancement and front-line engagement. Prior to joining Gallagher Bassett, Simpson held the position of senior vice president and chief claims officer at PMA Companies.
Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from Temple University. Additionally, she has completed executive education through the Institutes Executive Education Program at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business and holds a Certified Professional Disability Management (CPDM) designation.
Simpson’s appointment strengthens Gallagher Bassett’s team of senior leaders, which includes Regina Woodberry, Vice President for Client Services, recently recognized as the best female insurance leader in the U.S. for 2024.
Sinha, now managing director of Gallagher Bassett’s Captive Practice, is charged with leading the company's efforts in offering alternatives to the traditional insurance market. Before taking on this role, Sinha managed Gallagher Bassett’s Claims Operation for nine years.
His new position is expected to focus on expanding captive insurance options, a segment that has seen increased demand as businesses explore innovative risk management solutions outside conventional insurance frameworks.
Gallagher Bassett, a player in the third-party claims administration sector, has highlighted these appointments as part of a broader strategy to strengthen expertise within its Workers’ Compensation and Captive Practice teams.
With insurance costs rising and businesses facing more complex risk environments, the company aims to position itself as a provider of specialized solutions tailored to client needs.
