Arthur J. Gallagher & Co (Gallagher) has announced that its claims and risk management subsidiary, Gallagher Bassett, has acquired the UK-based operations of Caytons Law LLP. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Caytons, a claims and legal management firm, specializes in providing legal advice on commercial and professional liability insurance matters.
The firm operates in London and Bristol, with its team, including principals John Cayton, Sam Moore, and Robin Cundall, set to integrate into Gallagher Bassett’s UK operations under the leadership of Manan Sagar, head of Gallagher Bassett UK.
J Patrick Gallagher, Jr, chairman and CEO of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co, highlighted the acquisition as a strategic move to bolster Gallagher Bassett’s claims management offerings in the UK market.
"Caytons is a highly regarded firm whose deep expertise in claims management for financial lines and professional liability will enhance Gallagher Bassett's capabilities in the UK," he said. "I am very pleased to welcome John, Sam, Robin and their associates to our growing Gallagher family of professionals."
The acquisition is expected to strengthen Gallagher Bassett’s presence in the UK by leveraging Caytons’ expertise in complex claims and legal advisory services. By integrating Caytons into its operations, Gallagher Bassett said that it aims to provide enhanced support to clients managing risks related to financial and professional liability.
Caytons’ London and Bristol offices will continue to serve clients, with leadership and staff joining Gallagher Bassett to ensure continuity and expertise in their service offerings.
Recently, Gallagher also expanded on its home base with the acquisition of Shepard Insurance Group, a retail insurance broker based in Old Greenwich, Conn.
Following the acquisition, Steve Shepard, Kyle Shepard, and their team will continue operating from their current location, now under the leadership of Brendan Gallagher, who oversees the Northeast region's retail property/casualty brokerage operations at Gallagher.
