Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. is expanding its operations in Georgia after its acquisition of Sheila J. Butler & Company (SJB).
SJB is an employee benefits brokerage firm serving businesses of various sizes in western Georgia, including the greater Atlanta area.
Sheila J. Butler, Blake Butler, and their team will continue operations from their current location under the leadership of Colby Paxton, head of Gallagher’s Southeast region employee benefits consulting operations.
"SJB has an excellent reputation for client service and will enhance our existing benefits consulting capabilities and footprint in Georgia," said J. Patrick Gallagher, Jr., chairman and CEO.
By integrating SJB's expertise and client relationships, Gallagher aims to enhance its service offerings and strengthen its position as a leading provider of employee benefits solutions in the region.
This acquisition is the latest in a series of strategic moves by Gallagher to expand its US and global presence and operations.
For the month of December alone, Gallagher announced the acquisitions of Caytons Law LLP., Hann Insurance Brokers Pty Ltd., and AssuredPartners.
The recent deal with AssuredPartners is even considered as one of the largest acquisitions in the insurance brokerage industry at $13.45 billion in an all-cash transaction.
Gallagher reported total revenue of $2.77 billion for the third quarter of 2024, a 13% increase from the same quarter last year. This increase was driven by growth in its core segments.
Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., a global insurance brokerage, risk management, and consulting services firm, is headquartered in Rolling Meadows, Illinois. Gallagher provides these services in approximately 130 countries worldwide through its owned operations and a network of correspondent brokers and consultants.
