Fusion has appointed Steven J. England as its executive vice president and partner to lead its new US-based insurance body Fusion Specialty Americas Insurance Services LLC as it looks to expand in the market.
In this role, England will grow Fusion’s mergers and acquisitions insurance capabilities across North America as well as drive partnerships for Fusion’s other lines of speciality insurance.
Prior to his appointment, England held senior executive roles at AIG, Ironshore, Global Special Risks and Ryan Specialty Group, earning him more than three decades of insurance experience.
Established in 2018 as part of the POP Holdings Group, Fusion is an underwriting agency focused on providing insurance solutions to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Fusion is currently expanding with offices in Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Chicago.
In a statement, co-founders Killian McDermott and David Rogers said England entered Fusion at an opportune time as SMEs continue to look for financial assurance as they grapple with the aftermath of the pandemic.
“Steve joins us at an exciting time as we continue with our mission to manage risks for the underserved small business market globally,” McDermott said. “His extensive background in building insurance companies and his knowledge of distribution in the region brings highly valued expertise as we expand and look to new partners for our business in North America.”
“Steve’s extensive track record and commitment to achieving only the best results with specialty insurance businesses will be invaluable to us as we strive to deliver market-leading solutions to our brokers, distribution partners and their clients,” Rogers added.
