Isabella Miss Worldwide Boo Boo beat out the competition to earn the dubious distinction of being the dog with the weirdest name in the country in Nationwide’s Wackiest Pet Names of 2018 list.
Nationwide is the country’s largest provider of pet health insurance, covering more than 700,000 pets. Each year, the insurer recognizes the quirkiest pet names. After a thorough selection process, the top 10 strangest dog and cat names are put to a public vote.
Here, then, are the strangest pet names of 2018:

Cats
“The results from our Wacky Pet Names competition illustrate the thought and creativity pet owners put into naming their furry family members,” said Scott Liles, president and chief pet insurance officer for Nationwide. “Pets hold a special place in our members’ hearts, and while come of these names are assigned just for laughs, many of these monikers hold a special meaning or story behind them.”
Nationwide has provided pet health insurance since 1982. The company covers dogs, cats, birds and exotic pets, with medical plans available in all 50 states and the District of Columbia.
