Digital Media Solutions (DMS), a digital marketing company that offers scalable, people-based marketing solutions, has acquired insurtech company UE.co.
Along with the purchase of the San Diego-based UE.co, DMS has also acquired agent-focused lead generation platform ZipQuote and the Comanche click platform – both powered by UE.co. The new DMS Insurance division will house all of the acquired assets and continue to support the digital performance marketing needs of insurers and agents.
UE.co will also be rebranded as DMS Insurance following the transaction. The new DMS Insurance team will continue to be based in San Diego, serving all current insurance company and agent clients.
Launched in 2008, UE.co is a provider of digital marketing software and services. The insurtech was recognized as one of the “Fastest Growing Companies in San Diego” by San Diego Business Journal.
Following the transaction, UE.co founder Jason Kulpa will be leaving the company to pursue other opportunities, a release said. The unit will continue to be led by two of the original co-founders, however, EVP of insurance Taryn Lomas and EVP of technology Keola Malone.
“The team and I are incredibly excited to write the next chapter of our story, as part of Team DMS,” said Lomas. “DMS is very well respected for their ability to help brands scale their customer acquisition efforts quickly and effectively. With the global DMS team supporting us, DMS Insurance will be able to offer more opportunities for growth to our insurance advertisers and our publisher partners.”
In addition to Lomas and Malone, several other key appointments were made following the acquisition. Matt Rihtar has been named SVP of insurance for DMS Insurance. Colleen Liguori, who was most recently part of the UE.co team, was appointed SVP of HR for DMS, overseeing the human resources organization of the entire global DMS team.
