CRC Group has named Cristina Varner as executive vice president of Life Sciences and Healthcare Broker, further solidifying its commitment to specialized industry verticals.

Varner brings over 25 years of risk management experience to the role, with particular expertise in life sciences and healthcare sectors.

In her previous position as executive vice president and leader for National Life Science and Digital Health & Telemedicine Practice, she led practices serving more than 300 companies, showing her ability to scale specialized insurance services.

A recognized authority in product liability, professional liability, and clinical trials insurance, Varner has developed several innovative solutions throughout her career.

Her achievements include creating proprietary technology platforms for clinical trials and developing new insurance policy language in collaboration with Lloyd's of London specifically designed for emerging science organizations.

CRC executive vice president and life sciences broker Philip Jones welcomed Varner to the team, sharing, "Cristina's addition to the CRC team underscores our commitment to building industry-leading verticals that deliver specialized expertise, exclusive products, and best-in-class service.

Jones shared that Varner’s track record, thought leadership, and dedication to disruptive innovation aligns with CRC's vision for growth.

Meanwhile, Varner echoed the same sentiments, noting her excitement to join CRC to continue building a Life Sciences and Healthcare vertical with CRC.

“CRC's scale, resources, and commitment to industry-specific expertise create an incredible platform to deliver cutting-edge solutions to clients,” she added.

The appointment signals growth within CRC Group which now insures more than $40 billion in annual premiums across property and casualty, employee benefits, life, annuities, and long-term care. CRC employs 5,100 employees across the United States and Canada.
