It may have humble beginnings in the heart of Scotland, but insurance law specialist Clyde & Co has now moved a long way from home.
The firm has just announced a further expansion in the USA which will see it launch offices in both Chicago and Washington, DC.
The move will see the firm hire a 10-partner insurance and litigation group that will include a number of attorneys and staff from Troutman Sanders LLP.
“To be joined by a team of this size and calibre represents another significant milestone in our US growth story,” said Simon Konsta, Clyde & Co senior partner. “We are committed to continuing to invest in the United States and having this group on board, which includes a number of leaders in their fields, provides us with the opportunity to further broaden and deepen our global offering for our clients.”

The expansion is the latest growth for Clyde & Co in the US and follows the opening of a Miami office in July 2016. The firm now has eight offices and nearly 50 partners and 200 legal professionals across the USA in offices including San Francisco, Newport Beach, Atlanta, New York City and New Jersey. In November 2016, former Senior Partner James Burns took on a new US-based role as Head of Americas to further develop the firm’s business in the region.

“This is a significant and high-calibre group of lawyers. They provide us with a presence in two key locations and strengthen our ties with some of our largest clients and will be a terrific addition to our firm in the Americas and beyond.”
