Chubb has named Suresh Krishnan as chief operating officer of the company’s accident and health business in the US and Canada – a newly created role.
As COO of the North America accident and health business, Krishnan will assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the unit. He will also be responsible for developing and implementing growth strategies for the business, while reporting to Chubb executive vice-president of North America accident and health James Walloga.
Krishnan will be based in New York for his new role.
He has over two decades of experience, having served in several senior leadership roles. He was most recently head of Chubb’s major accounts division in Europe, having joined Chubb in 1999 - prior to the ACE and Chubb merger in 2016, he was leader of Chubb overseas general insurance division’s multinational and large accounts strategy. He also led and managed the global client executive practice for Chubb’s overseas general insurance division.
“Suresh is a strategic leader who has been with Chubb for quite some time and has a deep understanding of our business, our culture, and our clients’ needs,” commented Walloga. “That background is a good reflection of our overall leadership team and is key to our consistent approach to bringing innovative products and services to market, while providing superior support to our distribution partners.”
Following Krishnan’s appointment, his previous role as head of the major accounts division will be taken by Chubb France country president Nadia Côté.
In addition to Krishnan’s appointment, Chubb has also created a new role: senior vice-president, chief underwriting and digital officer for North America accident and health. The company has named Eric Bartenstein in the position. Bartenstein will focus on transforming the business into a digital environment, and will be based in Philadelphia reporting to Chubb executive vice-president of North America accident and health James Walloga.
