In a bid to further strengthen its portfolio and presence in North America, Chubb has announced the appointment of Lyndsey Christofer (pictured) as executive vice president and head of North America casualty for major accounts. In her new role, Christofer will oversee the strategic direction and management of the real estate and hospitality (REH), construction, environmental, medical risk, and excess casualty business units of Chubb.

Christofer’s appointment came at the heel of Chubb’s intensified campaign to sustain profitability and the company’s overall growth amid the ever-changing and challenging market.

Chubb highlighted that as it continues to adapt to the evolving demands of the casualty market, Christofer will be tasked with identifying critical risk trends and implementing innovative approaches to better help clients and partners through their complex challenges.

Commenting on the appointment, Matt Merna, senior vice president of Chubb Group and division president of North America major accounts said: “Lyndsey’s exceptional leadership and deep industry insight across diverse sectors make her the ideal choice for this pivotal role at Chubb. Her expanded portfolio, now including environmental, medical, and excess casualty, reinforces our commitment to delivering superior solutions in an increasingly complex casualty landscape.”

For her part, Christofer said that she is excited about her new role in the company that she has been serving for almost 11 years.

“I look forward to this exciting new, expanded responsibility developing customized solutions that meet the unique needs of our clients and partners across many lines of business and leveraging Chubb’s extensive industry resources,” Christofer said.

With almost two decades of experience in the insurance industry, Christofer has been an integral part of Chubb since 2013, starting as an assistant vice president and New York regional manager for primary construction. Over the past decade, Christof has consistently advanced within the company, taking on increased responsibilities, including the leadership of REH in December 2022.

Before her stint at Chubb, Christofer worked at AIG in various capacities, serving first as an actuarial analyst, then as an excess casualty underwriter, construction specialty, and specialty casualty director.

She is an alumna of Penn State University, with a degree in actuarial science.
