Specialty reinsurer Canopius Group has announced the appointment of Ruchama Graff as US head of actuarial.
In her new role, Graff will oversee actuarial reserving functions and technical pricing for US and Bermuda business. She will report to Lisa Davis, chief executive for US and Bermuda at Canopius.
“We are thrilled to welcome Ruchama as the head of our actuarial services,” Davis said. “Ruchama’s leadership and expertise will be a tremendous asset as she will play a key role in the strategic expansion of our US and Bermuda operations.”
Graff has more than 15 years of industry experience. Prior to joining Canopius, she served as actuary, global specialty and global reinsurance reserving for The Hartford Financial Services Group. She has also held actuarial leadership roles at The Navigators Group and Liberty International Underwriters.

Graff is the latest addition to Canopius USA’s leadership team as the company continues to expand in the region. Last month, the company appointed Coleman V. Johnson as its chief underwriting officer for the US and Bermuda. In June, it tapped Serena Lee as general counsel and chief risk officer for Canopius USA.
