CAC Specialty, an insurance brokerage under the CAC Group umbrella, has appointed Sonny Pittman (pictured above) as executive vice president of business development.
Pittman, who brings significant experience in the healthcare and behavioral health sectors, is expected to play a pivotal role in expanding CAC Specialty's presence in the Nashville market.
A third-generation property and casualty professional, Pittman’s background spans a variety of sectors, including transportation and auto dealerships.
His current focus is on healthcare, where he provides tailored insurance solutions to clients such as hospitals, health systems, physician groups, behavioral health facilities, and healthcare technology companies.
Melissa Menard, executive vice president of healthcare at CAC Specialty, commented on Pittman's expertise, particularly in the behavioral health sector, stating that his knowledge will be valuable to clients facing new challenges in a rapidly changing risk landscape.
“His leadership and deep knowledge will be instrumental as we continue to forge meaningful connections with our clients and provide exceptional services in a better and smarter way,” Menard said.
Pittman previously served as director, client advocate at a global broker, where he developed a comprehensive understanding of healthcare industry risks. His work with hospitals, physician groups, and healthcare technology companies has established him as a trusted advisor in the behavioral health field.
“I am thrilled to join CAC Specialty and be part of such an innovative team,” Pittman said. “Their industry expertise and commitment to client service are unmatched, and I look forward to working with my colleagues to continue driving value for our clients.”
This announcement follows a broader rebranding initiative by CAC Group in August, coinciding with the company’s fifth anniversary. The rebranding unifies CAC Group’s three business units under a single brand identity.
CAC Specialty, which focuses on specialty risks, is now part of a cohesive structure alongside CAC Agency, the new name for the 135-year-old property-casualty, personal lines, and employee benefits broker Cobbs Allen, and CAC Capital, which specializes in private finance and structured solutions.
