CAC Group has announced a leadership transition for early this year, with Erin Lynch, currently president of CAC Specialty’s natural resources practice, slated to become the company’s next chief executive officer.

Lynch (pictured left) will succeed Mike Rice (pictured right), who will move into the role of vice chairman. In his new position, Rice will focus on strategic growth opportunities and his responsibilities as a board member.

The announcement comes as CAC Group continues to grow and refine its operations.

Mike Rice’s contributions to CAC Group

Paul Sparks, executive chairman of CAC Group, acknowledged Rice’s contributions to the organization.

“Mike played a major role in developing the vision for CAC and has provided significant influence and leadership at our firm,” he said, claiming that Rice’s leadership had positioned the company as a destination for top industry talent.

He added: “As a result of Mike’s hard work and steadfast adherence to our values and vision, CAC Group’s performance has been extraordinary. We are extremely grateful for his contributions, and we look forward to his continued involvement with the company.”

Sparks also highlighted Lynch’s qualifications and leadership qualities, noting that she would be pivotal in ensuring the company’s continued role as a top specialty insurance broker.

“Erin is a proven leader with skills anchored in the values that make CAC successful – integrity, entrepreneurship, and achievement. Under her leadership, I am confident that CAC will continue to be a leading specialty insurance broker for years to come,” he said.

In accepting the position, Lynch outlined her vision for CAC Group’s future.

“I am committed to shaping the future of CAC Group through innovation and collaboration, helping our clients navigate an evolving risk landscape while doing my part to advance the insurance industry as a whole,” she said.

Lynch joined CAC Specialty in 2021 after serving as president of the Beecher Carlson global energy practice. During her tenure, she helped expand the natural resources division into one of CAC Group’s largest practice areas. She holds a degree from the University of Oregon.

Rebranding and growth

This leadership transition follows CAC Group’s 2024 rebranding, which consolidated its operations under a single identity to mark the company’s fifth anniversary.

The rebranding brought together CAC Specialty, CAC Agency (formerly known as Cobbs Allen), and CAC Capital, aiming to unify the firm’s brand presence and simplify its market approach.

Rice explained that the rebranding effort aligned with CAC Group’s strategy to deliver specialized services across select industries and markets.

“Uniting as one brand helps us deliver consistent results, building on the significant growth the company has seen in the past several years,” he said.
