Wholesale insurance broker Brown & Riding has announced the appointment of Andrew Grim (pictured) as executive director of specialty.
Grim has been with Brown & Riding since 2014. His new role will see him spearheading the development of strategies across the company’s industry and specialty practice areas.
At the same time, he will retain his current role as the national casualty practice leader and will continue to manage his production team.
“I am excited to elevate our firm’s mission of setting the gold standard in the specialty wholesale brokerage industry,” Grim said in a company release. “My focus is on nurturing client relationships and leading our teams to innovate in our specialty practice areas, ensuring unparalleled knowledge and service for our clients.”
With his expanded position, Grim will help foster collaboration among key executives to enhance operational synergies. He will also work closely with Brown & Riding chairman Chris Brown, who previously played an important role in guiding the firm’s specialty development.
“Andrew’s leadership has been integral to the development and success of our ‘Rainmaker’ broker development program,” said Brown. “He has been pivotal in mentoring new talent, contributing significantly to our firm’s rapid growth.”
Grim is based in Texas and will continue to report to Jeff Rodriguez, the company’s president and CEO.
“Andrew’s elevation to this role reflects his exceptional leadership and significant contributions to our firm,” said Rodriguez.
Prior to joining Brown & Riding, Grim spent time at Gallagher and Partners Specialty Group before it was acquired by AmWINS in 2017.
