Big I Illinois, a statewide association for Trusted Choice independent insurance agents, celebrated its 125th anniversary by recognizing standout professionals and agencies during its annual convention.
Held from October 15 to 17 in Peoria, the event saw Big I Illinois present its prestigious Charles M. Cartwright Award to Risk Management Solutions of America owner Bennie Jones (pictured), acknowledging his extensive contributions to the insurance sector and the association over the years.
Meanwhile two agencies were highlighted: Loman-Ray Insurance Group, based in Urbana, received the Agency of the Year Award in the large agency category, and Rivian Insurance Services in Normal was honored with the same accolade in the small agency category.
The Agency of the Year award celebrates firms that have demonstrated strong growth, innovative marketing, effective use of new technologies, exceptional customer service, and a commitment to community involvement.
As for individual excellence, Robert White of Bob White Insurance Agency in Mt. Vernon was named Agent of the Year. This award recognizes retail agents who show exceptional performance and dedication as members of Big I Illinois.
Luke Hoerr, representing Washington-based Summer and Associates, a division of Troxell, earned the Young Agent of the Year title, reflecting his outstanding service to the insurance profession, trade associations, and local community.
Phil Lackman, chief executive of Big I Illinois, stated: “First, I want to congratulate Bennie Jones for receiving the Cartwright award, our association’s highest honor. Bennie’s contributions to our association and his profession are too numerous to list, but suffice it to say his legacy will continue for generations to come.
“We are thrilled to honor these outstanding agents and agencies with our distinguished awards. Their dedication to providing exceptional service and support to their communities and industry has made a significant impact. They exemplify the highest standards of professionalism and are truly deserving of this recognition.”
The annual gathering also featured keynote presentations, continuing education sessions, and a tradeshow that hosted over 100 industry vendors.
