Managing general underwriter Ventus Risk Management, part of Arch Insurance North America, has appointed alumnus Tyler Bair (pictured) as president.
In his new role, Bair will oversee day-to-day operations, pursue growth opportunities, and strengthen relationships with both brokers and carrier partners.
Bair previously spent three years at Ventus before transitioning to Amwins Underwriting where he played a key role in advancing technology, operations, and data strategies across its US and UK operations.
Matt Shulman, chief executive of Arch Insurance North America, noted: “We are thrilled to have Tyler rejoin Ventus and are confident he is the right leader to propel the platform into its next stage of growth.
“Ventus is an important facet of Arch’s overall property strategy, a trusted MGU for its capacity providers and a respected partner for its producing brokers. Tyler’s strong expertise in this area and meaningful relationships make him the perfect fit for this role.”
Prior to his departure from Ventus in 2019, Bair served as vice president.
Commenting on his return, Bair said: “I’m grateful for the trust Arch has placed in me, and I’m excited to hit the ground running.
“I look forward to working with the Ventus team, familiar faces and new colleagues alike, to continue to leverage the data-forward, innovative Ventus platform to bring coastal commercial property solutions to our producers and customers.”
In a strategic shift, Richard Goldfarb, who was at the helm for the past five years, will now assume the role of head of strategy. Goldfarb’s deep expertise in technical pricing, portfolio management, and property will continue to support the company’s growth trajectory.
“I want to express our thanks to Richard for the important role he has played since our acquisition of Ventus in 2019,” Shulman highlighted. “We are looking forward to his continued contributions to future growth.”
Ventus specializes in the area of excess & surplus property.
