AXIS Capital Holdings has announced the appointment of Gabriel Galanski as head of North America property and casualty programs.
In his new role, Galanski will be responsible for the management, development, and administration of the company’s North American programs business. This includes advancing the company’s efforts to deliver a delegated authority presence that aligns with its distribution strategy.
Galanski will report to John Van Decker, president of global financial lines for AXIS Capital, while also working closely with the company’s wholesale division, led by AXIS Wholesale CEO Carlton Maner.
Prior to joining AXIS Capital, Galanski served as vice president with the Macquarie Insurance Facility. He has also served as an associate client executive with Marsh & McLennan. Before that, Galanski served in the US Marine Corps, leaving the service as a captain.
“Gabe is a terrific addition to our team, and his leadership will be invaluable as we further position our North American P&C programs to align with our global distribution strategy,” Van Decker said. “I’m confident that our team and our partners will benefit from Gabe’s deep market knowledge and demonstrated ability to foster strong, mutually beneficial partnership relationships.”
Galanski is the latest appointment by AXIS. In December, the company announced that Vincent C. Tizzio would succeed Albert A. Benchimol as president and CEO. In September, it named Dan Draper group chief underwriting officer.
