Jennifer Bell (pictured), who is stepping away from her role as Aon North America chief executive and will retire at the end of the year, has been appointed as executive chair of the NA region.

With immediate effect, Bell’s responsibilities at the helm will be taken over by regions CEO Lori Goltermann, assuming direct leadership of Aon North America.

The outgoing leader’s tenure at Aon spans over 33 years. Prior to her role as CEO of North America, Bell served as regional managing director of the Central region – having overall oversight of the Chicago, Detroit, Grand Rapids, Wisconsin, Northeast Ohio, Indianapolis, Louisville, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh offices.

Before then, she was the regional managing director for the Northeast region, as well as resident managing director, president, and chief operating officer of Cleveland. Additionally, Bell was a founding co-lead of Aon’s Global Inclusive Leadership Council, where she played a pivotal role in promoting the firm’s commitment to inclusion through significant initiatives.

Reflecting on her career, Bell said: “For the last three decades, I have had the opportunity to work with incredible Aon colleagues and help our clients solve their greatest needs. Aon has proven its ability to lead the industry and deliver more for clients, and I am excited to see the firm’s continued success.”

Meanwhile Aon president Eric Andersen noted: “Throughout her remarkable career as a marine broker, a producer, strategic account manager on global clients, and in senior Aon leadership roles – Jennifer built and developed strong, inclusive teams focused on both delivering the best of our firm to our clients and growth opportunities for colleagues.

“We congratulate Jennifer on her retirement and thank her for the many years of contributions on behalf of our colleagues and clients.”
