“It provides an opportunity for the customer for a one-stop shop,” said Chris Duncan, general sales manager at Toyota of Elizabeth City, as quoted by the report. “It can provide all their automotive and servicing needs, as well as protecting them with insurance products.”
According to the manager, the move provides a “calming effect” to customers, as it helps them easily factor in insurance costs options right where they buy a car. “It just really ties the entire process together for us.”
For his part, Allstate manager Michael Esposito said the initiative had “started slow” as few people knew about it.
“Now, things are starting to happen — and more people from (automotive) service, with our involvement, come back over to this side of the building,” he added, as quoted by Daily Advance. Esposito steers Allstate’s presence in the Nissan and Toyota dealerships.
Esposito said two Allstate representatives are based at the Toyota dealership and one at the Nissan dealership. Two weeks ago, the insurance giant announced it will expand operations in North Carolina by establishing a new office in the Charlotte area, potentially creating 2,250 new jobs for the region by 2020.
Currently, the company employs over 1,400 in the area and manages a sizable call center in Charlotte.
