Alliant Insurance Services has introduced a dedicated Government Contractors segment within its Alliant Specialty division.

The new segment will be led by Bryan Salek and Angela Kirby (pictured above), both senior vice presidents, and aims to provide clients with specialized expertise across a national platform.

The new Government Contractors segment is part of Alliant’s effort to strengthen its specialty platform. It aims to address the unique risks faced by government contractors, including those operating in challenging environments globally.

Alliant says that this initiative allows the company to serve government contractor clients regardless of size or location, with a focus on placement, service, claims, and loss control.

Michael Cusack, executive vice president at Alliant Specialty, said the move aligns with the firm’s strategy to deliver tailored expertise to clients.

“As the nation’s leading specialty broker, Alliant is focused on offering specific, differentiated expertise that benefits our clients,” Cusack said. “Bryan and Angela have spent decades focused on the Government Contractors segment and bring real-world experiences to the unique risks of working with the US federal government and the locations where they operate.”

Alexandra Littlejohn, senior managing director at Alliant, added that Salek and Kirby are well-regarded specialists in this segment.

“Bryan and Angela are recognized as the leading specialists in the Government Contractors segment and bring unmatched industry experience to Alliant’s dedicated specialty platform,” Littlejohn said.

Salek brings over 25 years of experience in risk management and insurance for companies providing services or products to the federal government. His responsibilities include guiding clients on mitigating risks associated with government contracts, aerospace, and defense industries.

His expertise extends to systematic, financial, operational, regulatory, and legal risks. He frequently speaks at industry events on emerging risks and holds Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Associate in Risk Management for Public Entities (ARM-P) designations.

Kirby, with more than 10 years of experience, specializes in creating insurance and risk management programs for government contractors and marine clients. She focuses on solving complex challenges by leveraging her expertise in claims, medical evacuation consultation, safety, and loss analytics.

Kirby’s areas of specialty include brokering solutions under the Defense Base Act (DBA), United States Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act (USL&H), and casualty insurance.
