Commercial retail insurance brokerage Alliant Insurance Services has made a suite of senior-role acquisitions across three states. Kristen Gunter has joined Alliant Insurance Services as senior vice president within the Alliant Employee Benefits group in Los Angeles, while Buddy Franson and Aran Buchan are Alliant’s new vice presidents in Iowa and Seattle, respectively.
As senior vice president of Alliant Employee Benefits, Gunter will focus on designing, executing, and managing a range of strategic employee benefits solutions for Alliant’s growing base of clients.

Gunter brings over two decades of industry experience into her new role, having worked as the senior vice president at a global insurance brokerage and employee benefits consulting firm. She has built expertise in employee benefits, insurance, compliance, and administration outsourcing solutions.
“Kristen’s broad skill set and unique background enables her to take a wide-angle, holistic approach to the benefits landscape,” said Alliant employee benefits president Kevin Overbey of the company’s newest hire. “She thinks strategically and knows how to build and grow relationships that stand the test of time."
Apart from the new hire to Alliant Employee Benefits, the insurer welcomed Franson as vice president in Dubuque, Iowa, earlier this week. Franson was tasked to provide comprehensive property and casualty insurance and risk management solutions to Alliant’s clients across the Midwest.

“[Franson] combines his longstanding experience in the Midwest region with keen, industry-specific expertise, offering clients customized solutions built for their business,” said Bob Bennetsen, Alliant’s executive vice president and senior managing director. “He sees beyond basic business risks and can help clients prepare for long-term growth and success.”
Buchan was also named an Alliant vice president last week. Based in Seattle, Buchan would handle providing solutions to the company’s growing client base in the Northwest region.
