Alliant Insurance Services and AF Group have announced executive appointments in their employee benefits and medical management divisions.

Alliant names senior vice president

Alliant Insurance Services has appointed Trent Vance as a senior vice president in its Employee Benefits Group.

Based in Florida, Vance will collaborate with clients across the Southeast and nationally to design strategies that focus on optimizing employee benefits programs and managing long-term costs.

Vance brings nearly 25 years of experience in the employee benefits sector, working with mid-market organizations on fully insured and self-funded programs. His work centers on aligning benefits strategies with corporate goals while addressing cost-efficiency throughout the employee lifecycle.

Before joining Alliant, Vance was area vice president for health and welfare at a global insurance brokerage and consulting firm in South Florida. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and finance from Florida State University.

“Trent’s deep understanding of both the private and public sectors, combined with his strategic approach to benefits planning, brings tremendous value to our clients,” said Kevin Overbey, president of Alliant Employee Benefits.

Overbey added that Vance’s skill in aligning cost-management goals with employers’ long-term strategic objectives helps organizations navigate the current competitive environment effectively.

AF Group names chief medical director

AF Group has named Marcos Iglesias, M.D., M.M.M., as its new chief medical director.

In this role, Iglesias will oversee medical management strategies and facilitate communication with the organization’s affiliate brands, medical vendors, and providers nationwide.

Iglesias has over three decades of clinical and administrative experience spanning workers’ compensation, occupational medicine, utilization management, and disability insurance. He previously served as chief medical director at Travelers and held leadership positions at Broadspire Services Inc. and The Hartford.

His professional affiliations include fellowships with the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. Iglesias is also a member of the American Academy of Insurance Medicine and holds board certifications in Family Medicine and Utilization Review and Quality Assurance.

Iglesias earned his medical degree from the University of Toronto, completed his residency at Sunnybrook Medical Centre, and holds a master’s degree in medical management from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.

Paul Kearney, AF Group's chief claims officer, described Iglesias’ background in developing medical management and claims strategies, highlighting his focus on providing care for injured workers.

"He has a clear passion for providing quality care and fluid access to care for injured workers and has designed transformative medical management solutions and innovative claims strategies that will significantly enhance our claims delivery," said Kearney.
