American International Group (AIG) has announced the appointment of Rose Marie Glazer (pictured above) as general counsel, effective immediately. Glazer has served as interim general counsel since Oct. 1.
In her new role, Glazer will remain an executive vice president reporting to AIG chairman and CEO Peter Zaffino, and a member of the company’s executive leadership team. Prior to taking on the role of general counsel, Glazer had served as AIG’s chief human resources and diversity officer since January of 2022.
“The legal, business and governance expertise that Rose Marie has demonstrated during her tenure, including most recently as interim general counsel, reaffirms that she is uniquely qualified for this leadership position,” Zaffino said. “Rose Marie has played an instrumental role in the significant progress we have made in positioning AIG as a top-performing global insurer. I look forward to continuing to work closely with her.”

Glazer holds a law degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law. She also has a BBA in accounting and a BA in Spanish. She is admitted to the state bar of Texas. Glazer is also National Association of Corporate Directors-certified. She is a member of Latino Corporate Directors Association and a member of the 2022 class of the Partnership for New York City’s David Rockefeller Fellows.
Patricia Walsh, who had previously been announced as joining the company, has decided to remain at Stripe, Inc., AIG said.
Last month, AIG published its earnings report for the third quarter of 2023. The company also recently announced three new leadership appointments.
