In an industry in which the average insurance agent is 59 years old, Stephanie Owens’ 10-year career makes her a relative newbie. Yet within that time, she’s managed to climb to the top 1% of State Farm agents in the country by serving people she calls “in limbo.”
Owens, who resides in Rosedale, Maryland, focuses on selling auto, home and life insurance to bilingual customers and people with foreign driver’s licenses or passports.
The work gives her meaning, she says.
“There is only one guarantee in life, and that is we will all die on day,” Owens said. “That is why I am passionate about ensuring my clients’ life insurance needs are met.”
Owens’ success has been so great, she has had to open a new office in Lutherville, Maryland in order to accommodate her growing clientele. With the two combined offices, she oversees a large team of licensed agents who make themselves available 24/7 and pay house calls.

Her offices are open six days a week to “better serve the community,” she said.
Owens is a proud State Farm agent, and says her last 10 years selling the carrier’s insurance has been a great one.
