Accredited Insurance Holdings has announced the appointment of Barbara Bufkin (pictured above, left) and Patricia Roufca (pictured above, right) as non-executive directors to its group board.

Accredited, a global program manager, highlighted that both Bufkin and Roufca bring substantial experience in the insurance sector, each having held multiple senior roles in the industry.

Bufkin’s career spans executive roles across reinsurance, specialty insurance, and wholesale distribution, including positions at Guy Carpenter, Swiss Re, Hamilton Insurance Group, and Argo Limited.

She has also advised Amwins as a senior advisor and currently serves as an independent director for Duck Creek Technologies, Nuclear Electric Insurance Limited, and Westfield Companies. Bufkin is also involved with Opterrix in an advisory capacity and chairs the Association of Professional Insurance Women.

Roufca was most recently the UK chief executive officer of Fidelis Underwriting Limited, where she also held roles as group general counsel and director of strategic execution. During her time with Fidelis Insurance Holdings, she contributed to the successful bifurcation of the company and served as group chief operating officer.

Prior to Fidelis, Roufca held various positions at Aspen Insurance, including group head of legal, having begun her career as a corporate lawyer.

Accredited CEO William Spiegel commented on the appointments, noting that Bufkin and Roufca will bring a "fresh perspective and important insights" to the board as the company aims to balance growth with rigorous risk management and strong governance.

“Alongside our recent senior executive appointments, this is a further demonstration of our focus on ensuring Accredited has the leadership, experience, and strategy to enable it to thrive over the long term,” Spiegel said.

Last month, the global program manager also expanded with the addition of Neil McConachie as chief risk and capital officer, also reporting to Spiegel.
