Employee benefits and leave management specialist The Hartford has announced a collaboration with Marvin Behavioral Health to offer mental health resources to its life and disability insurance customers in the healthcare industry.

This initiative addresses the unique needs of healthcare professionals and aligns with The Hartford's ongoing effort to provide specialized insurance coverage and dedicated support teams.

Marvin Behavioral Health specializes in connecting healthcare workers with quality mental health care through health systems, medical groups, residency programs, and healthcare employers. Their services include licensed therapists trained to work with healthcare professionals, 24/7 video call availability, and sessions covered by most commercial insurance plans.

There is also no limit to the number of therapy sessions, and employers receive insights into key clinical measurements and de-identified demographics to address workplace-related mental health concerns.

The Hartford’s life or disability insurance customers who opt to work with Marvin may also receive a discount on Marvin's services.

The Hartford’s 2024 Future of Benefits study revealed that 64% of healthcare workers experience some level of burnout, with 26% often feeling burnt out. Additionally, 21% reported that their mental health consistently affects their productivity, 29% struggle with depression or anxiety a few times per week, and 63% believe their company should provide more mental health resources.

“Healthcare employees often face difficult situations in the course of their work, such as losing a patient, delivering hard news to a patient or family, or other traumatic experiences that may affect their mental health,” said John Gallant (pictured above), head of product and underwriting for group benefits at The Hartford. “We believe it is critical to connect our customers with Marvin to help them holistically support the well-being of their employees.”
