Melisa Kitowski (pictured) has joined employee benefits general agency BenefitMall as benefits sales executive for Texas within the firm’s professional employer organization (PEO) division.

With over 12 years of experience in direct PEO sales, Kitowski brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her new role. She holds several insurance licenses and certifications, and has been actively involved in the payroll and PEO industry since 2007.

“Melisa is eager to help employers find the best PEO solutions for their business needs and aims to improve employee benefits by collaborating closely with brokers,” Dave Mascia, regional vice president at BenefitMall, commented. “We are glad she has joined the BenefitMall team.”

Kitowski is the latest in a series of appointments at the employee benefits general agency. These include the following:

  • Michael LaBarre – benefits sales executive, PEO
  • Anthony Pipia – benefits sales executive, New York
  • Will Provost – benefits sales executive, New England
  • Sandi Llewellyn – benefits sales executive, Arizona
  • Trent Wong – benefits sales executive, Texas
  • Julie Linn – benefits sales executive, Georgia
  • Ivonne Arroyo – benefits sales executive, Florida
  • Lisa Elstein – benefits sales executive, Florida
  • Xavier Montes – broker sales executive, California
  • Neil Crosby – business development director, California

Working with a network of 20,000 brokers, BenefitMall delivers employee benefits to more than 200,000 small and medium-sized businesses.

The company’s hiring spree comes at a time when the benefits market is considered to be teeming with opportunities for brokers and managing general agents.

“MGAs are focused on the space because traditional [property and casualty] carriers have been looking to get into the accident and health space,” Samuel Fleet, of Amwins, recently told Insurance Business.

“There probably isn’t a week that goes by where I don’t get a call from a traditional P&C carrier looking to get into the benefits world.”
