As CEO of AIA New Zealand, Nick Stanhope is proud to lead a passionate team with the goal of making New Zealand one of the healthiest and most protected nations in the world. Stanhope has held a diverse range of senior leadership roles over 30 years in the financial services sector in New Zealand. Before Sovereign joined AIA Group in July 2018, he was its CEO. Prior to this, he held the role of executive general manager of wealth and insurance at ASB Bank. During his 21 years at ASB, other key leadership roles included general manager corporate banking and working capital services, general manager business banking and general manager of business banking and retail specialist services. This is Stanhope’s second time in the Insurance Business Global 100 list. He took up BSc in Computer Science at the University of Otago and Auckland.
