Executive Director
Gamma lota Sigma
Integrity, humility, and service are among the core values impacting the decisions I make each day,” says Grace Grant, executive director of Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS). “But it’s courage and perseverance that have pushed me out of my comfort zone and allowed me to really learn and grow as a leader. As they say, ‘Fall seven times and stand up eight.’” These principles have guided Grant through the transformative and rapid growth seen across GIS.
Thanks to Grant’s leadership and expertise, GIS has been able to expand upon its mission of promoting and sustaining student interest in insurance careers. GIS has grown into a robust organization representing 97 collegiate chapters, more than 5,000 student members, 24 alumni chapters, 35,000 alumni, 100-plus faculty advisors and hundreds of industry partners. Under Grant’s leadership, GIS has taken on a new shape over the past year, with an increased emphasis on responsible growth, transparency and communication while ensuring that all initiatives are addressing the needs of both the students it represents and the industry it serves.
GIS has expanded its student reach through the GammaSAID (Solutions for Authenticity, Inclusion and Diversity) initiative, reaching more students from more universities, increasing exposure and access to industry careers for a diverse talent pipeline. Grant serves on multiple industry boards and committees and was named to IBA’s Elite Women list earlier this year.
