Tom Kocaj

Tom Kocaj is the Head of Management Liability for QBE North America. He oversees the ongoing development and execution of the go-to-market strategy, while driving underwriting excellence, strong portfolio management, selective distribution, and a differentiated and specialized customer experience. 

He is a seasoned insurance executive with over 30 years of industry experience in the Financial Institutions market with an array of producer and customer relationships. Tom joined QBE from Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, where he was responsible for the underwriting team providing Directors and Officers, Errors and Omissions, Fidelity Bond, EPL, Fiduciary Liability, and Cyber Liability for banks, asset managers, insurance companies, REIT’s, private equity and diversified financial institutions. Before joining Berkshire Hathaway in 2014, he worked nearly 20 years at CNA Financial Corp, where he held several leadership roles with increasing responsibilities serving the last nine as Vice President-CNA Financial Institutions. He began his insurance career at Continental Insurance Co. underwriting Professional Liability. 

Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in finance from Susquehanna University and completed the executive development program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business.
