Miller is expanding its reinsurance operations with the appointment of Vincent Foucart as managing director in its reinsurance division. The move is part of the firm's strategy to strengthen its position in the European reinsurance market.
In his new position, Foucart will focus on business development across Western Europe, including France, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Monaco. He will lead efforts across three core areas: international treaty, specialty lines, and strategic advisory.
Foucart will work under the leadership of Shaun Sinniah, Miller’s head of reinsurance and capital, supporting the firm’s long-term growth objectives.
“I’m delighted to be joining Miller at this point of their history where they look to bolster their market-leading specialty offerings with a growing international reinsurance proposition," said Foucart.
He said that as risk-transfer challenges grow, there are opportunities to serve market segments that larger incumbents have historically underserved.
With its specialist capabilities, commitment to client service excellence and impressive corporate culture, Miller is for me the place to be to foster (re)insurance market development,” Miller added.
Sinniah said Foucart’s experience in building businesses and fostering industry relationships aligns with the company’s growth strategy.
"His deep market expertise and multi-decade leadership experience will prove invaluable as we continue to deliver on our long-term growth ambitions in this segment, underpinned by our commitment to excellence across claims, analytics and advisory services,” Sinniah said.
Miller’s appointment of Foucart follows a series of acquisitions aimed at strengthening its reinsurance capabilities. Earlier this month, the company acquired specialist reinsurance broker Alwen Hough Johnson. This came after the 2024 acquisitions of capital advisory firm 4809 Brokers and Spanish broker Bruzon.
According to Miller head of Europe Tim Nagle, the firm considers Europe as a critical market for its reinsurance ambitions. "We look forward to maintaining this progress as we continue to expand our European footprint,” Nagle said.
