Hamilton Global Specialty, part of Hamilton Insurance Group, Ltd., is welcoming new leadership in its underwriting teams as part of its focus on leadership development and continuity in key business areas.

Mike Thorp (pictured left) has been named head of space, and will be reporting to Sinead Cormican, the deputy active underwriter for Syndicate 4000.

Chris Golder (pictured right) has been appointed head of treaty. He will report to Miles Osorio, the active underwriter for Syndicate 4000.

Thorp has been with Hamilton since 2015 and was instrumental in launching the company’s space underwriting program in 2016. He brings 24 years of experience in technical and underwriting roles within the space insurance sector.

Golder, who joined Hamilton’s treaty insurance team in February 2023, has 16 years of experience in the insurance industry, including 10 years in underwriting.

These appointments are part of Hamilton’s strategy of developing internal talent to drive growth in its specialized insurance operations.

“Their promotions are not only well-deserved but also a reflection of our focus on developing leaders who can shape the future of Hamilton," said Adrian Daws, CEO of Hamilton Global Specialty. “We are committed to these lines of business and look forward to maintaining momentum with the continued leadership of Mike and Chris and their talented teams.”

Based in Bermuda, Hamilton Insurance Group operates globally through three underwriting platforms: Hamilton Global Specialty, Hamilton Select, and Hamilton Re.
