Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has appointed Mark Walker, who currently serves as head of customer & broker engagement for the UK, as the insurer’s head of national business in Britain.
In a release, UK country manager Nick Major said: “BHSI has created an industry-leading underwriting team focussed on providing our property, casualty, and specialty lines for national customers and brokers outside of the London Market.
“We are excited to have Mark leading this team’s efforts to bring all the benefits of BHSI – our full breadth of products, financial strength, and CLAIMS IS OUR PRODUCT philosophy – to market as we accelerate our growth in this important business segment.”
Walker’s appointment culminates BHSI’s build-out of its dedicated national business underwriting team in the UK. The internal hire, meanwhile, will retain his customer & broker engagement role until a successor is named.
Based in Manchester, Walker has been with the insurer since 2019. He has more than 35 years of industry experience from companies in the UK, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Asia.
