Allianz has announced the appointment of Alastair Warren-Upham (pictured) as the head of distribution, London, for Allianz Commercial in the UK, effective September 1.

This newly established position will encompass oversight of both the large-corp & specialty, as well as the mid-corp distribution teams in London. The role holds significant importance within the broader distribution function, the insurer stated, covering all trading facets of the integrated Allianz Commercial set-up, including large-corp, specialty, mid-corp, digital/SME, and engineering inspection.

Warren-Upham’s journey with Allianz began with his inclusion in the graduate management programme back in 2009. According to LinkedIn, he has notably served as a key account manager in London, a strategic account manager, and London market manager (commercial branch manager) since 2019.

Offering insights into this appointment, UK chief distribution officer Nick Hobbs said: “Alastair’s wealth of experience makes him an excellent fit for this new role, and he is already a familiar presence in the London market. We eagerly anticipate the growth of the teams under his guidance, presenting a cohesive front to this crucial market. This move aims to simplify the experience for customers and partners, enabling them to access the full potential of Allianz’s solutions.”

Recently, the company announced two appointments to reinforce its presence in the Southern region of the UK.
