SiriusPoint has extended its existing partnership with Copenhagen-based managing general agent (MGA) DUPI Nordics, broadening its underwriting support beyond the Nordics to include Continental Europe.

The move builds on a collaboration that began in March 2023 and marks an expansion in SiriusPoint’s MGA distribution strategy.

The original agreement between the two firms centered on Brown Water Hull insurance in the Nordic region, and was SiriusPoint’s first MGA partnership based in Stockholm. With the revised arrangement, the insurer will now provide capacity for DUPI Nordics across a wider European footprint, supporting its geographic and business development plans.

Rob Gibbs (pictured above), president and CEO of SiriusPoint International, said the insurer is supporting DUPI Nordics as it expands in both the Nordics and across Continental Europe.

“This partnership reflects our commitment to our MGA strategy as we look to build long-term, collaborative relationships to create value and deliver specialized insurance solutions across key markets,” Gibbs said. “We value the trust and alignment we share with DUPI Nordics, and we look forward to continued success together.”

Lars Hendriksen, managing director Nordics at DUPI, said the MGA’s model depends on having a committed and respected carrier partner.

“SiriusPoint’s local presence and long-term approach give us the confidence we need to execute on our growth ambitions. We look forward to developing our relationship further,” Hendriksen said.

The expansion with DUPI aligns with SiriusPoint’s broader strategy of partnering with MGAs in niche and specialty classes across international markets. In a separate development earlier this year, the company entered into a strategic agreement with Innovative Program Solutions, a subsidiary of Holmes Murphy, to support a US-based umbrella and excess liability captive insurance offering.

SiriusPoint has also developed a focused underwriting presence in the marine and specialty markets across Europe through partnerships with other MGAs. These include capacity arrangements with Hellenic Hull and Alta Signa, where SiriusPoint provides support for targeted programs in maritime and commercial property classes.

As of March, SiriusPoint reported approximately US$2.7 billion in total capital. The firm maintains financial strength ratings of A- (Excellent) from AM Best, S&P, and Fitch, and an A3 rating from Moody’s.
