SiriusPoint backs ISA in specialty program for social and human services

Reinsurance News

Global specialty insurer and reinsurer SiriusPoint has entered a strategic collaboration with Irwin Siegel Agency (ISA), a New York-based managing general underwriter focused on human and social services. ISA operates under the Ryan Specialty group.

The partnership will see SiriusPoint support the launch of a new casualty and excess program aimed at organizations within the social and human services sector.

The program will be distributed exclusively through wholesale channels and will offer insurance solutions to entities such as community action agencies, emergency shelters, homeless services, job counseling centers, outreach programs, and other related organizations.

ISA has been providing underwriting services and risk management offerings for nearly six decades, with a focus on property and casualty products tailored to the needs of nonprofit and social service clients.

Its specialty areas include developmental disability support, addiction recovery, mental and behavioral health, and youth-focused programs. The agency operates under Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers, the underwriting arm of Ryan Specialty.

Patrick Charles (pictured above), head of North America Insurance at SiriusPoint, said the new program aims to meet a distinct need within the human and social services space and added that the company anticipates a productive partnership with ISA.

SiriusPoint has actively expanded its casualty and excess programs throughout 2024, forming strategic partnerships to enhance its offerings in the excess & surplus (E&S) market.

In July last year, the reinsurer announced strategic partnership with Tara Hill Insurance Services, a newly established E&S program administrator. The focus is on private management liability and miscellaneous professional liability coverages for small to medium-sized risks.

March 2024 saw SiriusPoint and NIP Group forming a nationwide E&S program underwriting platform. Initially, they focused on NIP's LandPro program, catering to landscaping companies, with plans to expand to other NIP programs.
