SCOR London has relocated its operations to 8 Bishopsgate, leasing two-and-a-half floors encompassing 50,000 square feet in the newly constructed tower. The building stands 204 meters tall and is currently the 10th tallest skyscraper in London.
The new space is designed to provide greater flexibility, offering a range of work environments including quiet libraries, individual call pods, traditional meeting rooms, and social areas.
Anthony Burpitt, general manager of SCOR London, said the expanded workspaces support different working styles. Burpitt said the internal staircase connecting SCOR’s three floors is the showpiece of the new office.
Beyond the workspace, 8 Bishopsgate features sustainability initiatives such as London’s highest solar panels, a smart facade, and urban planting on its roof terraces. The building also offers amenities including a "zen" reception area, dining options, and access to a 50th-floor viewing gallery and a 26th-floor restaurant and terrace.
SCOR’s London team has begun welcoming clients and partners into the new space, which the company said will foster collaboration.
Announced last year, the reinsurance provider signed a 15-year lease with Mitsubishi Estate London and Stanhope, reflecting a long-term commitment to the Square Mile. The move comes during a period of changing office occupancy rates in London, as hybrid work models have become more common and flexible workspace providers like WeWork have scaled back, leading some firms to secure longer-term office arrangements.
Thierry Léger, CEO of SCOR, said the move also aligns with SCOR’s sustainability goals, aiming to create a greener and more efficient work environment for employees and a welcoming space for partners.
As of Dec. 31, 2024, SCOR SE employs 3,621 individuals worldwide, marking a 3.72% increase from the previous year. It operates 37 offices globally, with its headquarters located at 5 Avenue Kléber, 75795 Paris Cedex 16, France.
The company's global presence includes offices in various countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Africa. Specific locations encompass cities such as London, Zurich, Cologne, Madrid, Dublin, New York, Charlotte, Houston, Singapore, Tokyo, Sydney, Johannesburg, and São Paulo.
