Price Forbes Re has named Isaac Sanday (pictured above) as its global head of life, pensions and annuities, a newly created position.

Sanday, who started on June 2, will report to Roger Smith, head of accident, health and life, and will be based in London.

Sanday brings more than 26 years of industry experience to Price Forbes Re. He previously served as head of life and annuities for the UK, Ireland, and the Americas at Guy Carpenter. His earlier roles include senior director at Willis Re/Willis Towers Watson, where he worked across the EMEA region, and various positions at Swiss Re

Before transitioning to reinsurance, Sanday held investment banking roles at R.J. O’Brien, Merrill Lynch, Societe Generale, and ABN AMRO in both the United States and the United Kingdom.

In his role, Sanday will oversee the development of a new division tasked with advising, consulting, structuring, and placing life, pension, and annuity reinsurance transactions worldwide. The appointment is aimed at enhancing the firm’s service offerings by expanding its advisory capabilities in the reinsurance sector.

Smith said that Sanday’s experience across multiple regions in the reinsurance market positions him to contribute immediately to the company’s efforts.

“His energy and enthusiasm are well supported by his skills and experience. It is a testament to the platform that has been established at Price Forbes Re that we can attract such talented and established professionals,” Smith said.

This move comes amid a period of strategic growth at Price Forbes Re. The company has been strengthening its facultative reinsurance capabilities by appointing Oliver Waterhouse as head of property facultative and adding specialists in terrorism and political violence reinsurance.

Price Forbes Re has also expanded its leadership team in other areas. Sherman Power joined earlier this year as executive vice president of alternative risk and capital solutions, with a mandate to develop strategies for enhancing reinsurance capacity in evolving markets.

Market conditions further underline the significance of these recent appointments. The life and annuity reinsurance market has seen a notable increase in activity, with ceded reserves tripling between 2021 and 2023 to nearly $55 billion.

In addition to leadership changes, Price Forbes Re has also reinforced its presence in Bermuda. Carrie Kelley was promoted to CEO of Price Forbes Bermuda in late 2024. With over two decades of experience, Kelley is tasked with steering the company’s strategy and operations in one of the world’s key reinsurance hubs.
