Everest Reinsurance has promoted Himanshu Garg to head of new business initiatives for the Asia Pacific region, the company announced. Garg will also retain his role as head of India.
The appointment was confirmed on LinkedIn by Kevin Bogardus, chief executive for Everest Reinsurance’s Asia Pacific operations.
Garg, who joined Everest in September 2018, has held the position of vice president for nearly seven years.
In a statement, Bogardus said that since joining the company, Garg has shown consistent performance and industry knowledge.
“Having worked closely with Himanshu, I’ve seen first-hand his exceptional work ethic, commitment, and drive to deliver results,” said Bogardus.
Garg will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of the company’s reinsurance initiatives in high-growth areas across the Asia Pacific region.
Bogardus said he has worked directly with Garg and described him as having a strong work ethic and focus on execution.
“I have every confidence that his leadership will be instrumental in driving our continued success in the region,” he said.
Garg’s expanded responsibilities come as Everest continues to strengthen its position in global markets. According to the company, it operates in more than 115 countries across six continents and reported net income of $210 million and net operating income of $276 million for the first quarter of 2025.
