Bermuda-based reinsurer PartnerRe has announced the appointment of Ruth Damian as senior client partner for North America Life financial solutions.
Chris Shanahan, CEO of life and health at PartnerRe, announced the appointment in a LinkedIn post. “Very excited to have Ruth be the latest great talent to join PartnerRe," Shanahan wrote.
Damian brings more than 25 years of experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry, with a specialization in managing domestic and international reinsurance agreements for major life insurers and reinsurers. She joins PartnerRe from SCOR, where she most recently served as assistant vice president of financial solutions.
Prior to her tenure at SCOR, Damian held the position of structured reinsurance finance lead at Brighthouse Financial. She also occupied senior roles at MetLife and Reinsurance Group of America.

This month, AM Best has affirmed PartnerRe Ltd.’s subsidiaries’ A+ (Superior) financial strength rating and “aa-” (Superior) long-term issuer credit rating. PartnerRe Ltd.’s long-term ICR remains “a-” (Excellent).
