Lyons, who will be based in Bermuda, will lead the development of Aon’s reinsurance operations on the island. She will continue in her role as global product leader for Reinsurance Solutions, while also overseeing local growth initiatives, talent development, and platform expansion in coordination with the firm’s broader Bermuda strategy.
Andy Marcell, CEO of risk capital and reinsurance at Aon, said that Lyons will work closely with Nick Moore, CEO of Aon Bermuda Limited, to provide clients with expanded access to capital and risk solutions.
According to Aon, the appointment follows a series of recent hires aimed at reinforcing its presence in the Bermuda reinsurance market.
As for other regions, Aon also recently appointed Anthony DiLorenzo as head of US casualty for its reinsurance solutions unit in response to the increasing demand for assistance in managing complex long-tail risks. DiLorenzo himself took over for Lyons, who was previously in the role.
In APAC, Aon also announced the appointment of Soeren Soltysiak as the new Asia CEO for its reinsurance solutions division.
Soltysiak, in his new role, will lead the company’s reinsurance strategy across the Asia-Pacific region, overseeing areas including treaty, facultative, analytics, and operations. He will be based in Singapore and will report to George Attard, CEO of reinsurance solutions for the Asia-Pacific region.
Earlier this year, Aon also launched a specialized reinsurance practice in India aimed at addressing capital needs and market expansion. The practice assists insurers in optimizing capital positions, reducing earnings volatility, and enhancing product design and distribution.
Renuka Nar was appointed as head of broking for the practice. Reporting to Shailendra Sapra, CEO of Aon’s reinsurance solutions in India, Nar leads the development of Aon’s reinsurance services, business strategy, and overall value proposition in the region.
