Global assistance provider Europ Assistance (EA) has launched its travel insurance offerings in New Zealand, marking the first time its services will be available to local travellers.

The move comes through a partnership with Flight Centre Travel Group (FCTG), announced on Nov. 28, 2024. The partnership will allow customers to purchase travel insurance that includes emergency assistance services through FCTG’s network of over 45 retail locations and other channels.

Europ Assistance Australia and New Zealand (EA ANZ) is spearheading the initiative, bolstering its operations by establishing a direct presence across both the North and South Islands.

EA ANZ CEO Anna Gladman said the collaboration is part of the company’s broader strategy to strengthen its role in the travel sector.

“We are thrilled to become Flight Centre Travel Group’s preferred travel insurance provider and be trusted with caring for their customers through an integrated travel offer that includes insurance,” she said.

She added that the partnership reflects the company’s focus on delivering reliable assistance and enhancing the travel experience of New Zealanders.

The partnership is designed to combine Europ Assistance’s global expertise in travel assistance with FCTG’s established retail footprint.
