Fusion, a specialty insurer providing insurance solutions to small and medium-sized businesses, has named Katherine Simmonds as its new managing partner based in Sydney.
In her new role, Simmonds will have international responsibilities, including spearheading the continued growth of the firm in the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) insurance market in Australia and Asia-Pacific and growth markets in the USA and Europe.
Fusion was founded by industry veterans Killian McDermott and David Rogers and is a part of the POP Holdings Group. It is rapidly transitioning from a start-up to a global firm in highly specialised insurance markets and partners with major insurers, including Allianz, Markel, Zurich, Ping An, and HDI Global Specialty.
McDermott, co-founder and executive partner, commented that Simmonds brings highly valued expertise to the firm as it prepares to launch new insurtech products and services internationally.
