Aon has announced the appointment of Brian Gillin (pictured above) as managing director for its cyber reinsurance solutions team.

Gillin, based in New York, brings over a decade of experience advising insurance clients on managing and transferring cyber and technology risks. 

Gillin has spent more than 10 years with Aon in various roles, most recently serving as managing director and East Region leader. In his career at the firm, he has also held positions as senior vice president and team leader for the New York office.

His background includes a focus on professional risk solutions and financial services, as well as prior legal experience in intellectual property and health law. 

Gillin's tenure at Aon has involved leading teams in developing strategies to address cyber risks for insurance clients. In his new role, he is expected to leverage this experience to expand the firm’s cyber reinsurance capabilities and assist clients in navigating the evolving cyber risk landscape. 

Aon highlighted Gillin’s deep knowledge of cyber and technology risk management as a key asset for the reinsurance team. The firm noted that his appointment reflects its commitment to strengthening its expertise in cyber reinsurance, an area of growing importance in the insurance and reinsurance sectors. 

Gillin holds a juris doctor degree from Albany Law School, with a focus on intellectual property, and a bachelor of arts degree in English, history, and philosophy from Lehigh University. 

In other recent developments, Aon has announced the appointment of Adam Neverton as global head of strategic broking for professions, effective immediately.

In his new position, Neverton will be based in London and will report to both John Brosnan, head of specialty products for financial and professional services in the Global Broking Centre, and Kristin Kraeger, CEO of professional services in the US.

Neverton's focus will be on developing customized risk management solutions for Aon’s professional services clients globally. With more than 30 years of experience in the industry, Neverton has worked extensively with professional services firms and began his career at Aon in 1993.
