AMI has officially introduced HomeHub, a comprehensive home repair service, to signal a new business avenue for the Kiwi insurer.

The inception of AMI HomeHub follows IAG’s acquisition of building group NorthStar, recognised for its expertise in reinstatement building services, particularly in carpentry across various trades.

The newly established AMI HomeHub business aims to deliver timely, convenient, and high-quality repairs. Plans include a digital AMI HomeHub portal, allowing customers to book and modify visits and assessments, upload visual media, monitor claim progress, and select alternative products and materials.

Commencing initially in Auckland, Hamilton, and Northland, with future expansion plans, AMI HomeHub caters to customers of AMI, State, NZI, Lumley, Lantern, NAC, Swann, ASB, BNZ, Westpac, and Co-Operative Bank. Customers can opt for AMI HomeHub or another approved building partner from the IAG network at the time of making their claim.

AMI supply chain and adjacencies EGM Dean MacGregor said that the launch of HomeHub represents a new era for the company, with the proposition diversifying its services on offer.

“AMI has always been a deeply customer-focused brand, and we are excited to be able to continue putting our customers front and centre with this new addition. We are pleased to be launching this service today, which will aim to improve the claims experience for our customers by offering smooth and speedy home repairs,” MacGregor said.

AMI HomeHub is scheduled for full operation from Nov. 1, 2023, with plans for further service expansions in the forthcoming months.

In other developments for the Kiwi insurer, AMI recently bagged the title of Canstar’s car insurer of the year, along with an outstanding value award win.
