As part of the annual ANZIIF Insurance Industry Awards, Asteron Life has celebrated being named the Life Insurance Company of the Year. The senior leadership team of the Kiwi insurer was present to receive the accolade, signifying the company’s standing in the industry.
Asteron Life EGM Grant Willis highlighted the award as a reflection of the commitment and efforts of the team. He emphasised their focus on making insurance accessible, affordable, and sustainable.
“One of the things the Asteron Life leadership team is most proud of is how our people consistently put customers at the heart of everything they do. Our adviser relationships have gone from strength to strength over the last year, and this is apparent in customer and adviser feedback,” Willis said.
Asteron Life received high ratings from independent advisers, particularly in claims management and adviser relationships. The company reported an average claims acceptance rate of 94% during the 2023 financial year. Willis mentioned that the company actively seeks to understand and address customer concerns and continuously works to enhance the experiences of both customers and advisers.
The evening also shed light on various accomplishments for Asteron Life, including the firm’s commitment to clarity and transparency, strategic growth through the upgrade of the underwriting rules engine, and the implementation of diverse customer and employee-centric initiatives. Notably, the extension of the Asteron Life Connected Care service was highlighted, which facilitates access to a broad range of healthcare options, encompassing medical, mental health, fitness, and nutrition support.
Willis expressed gratitude to the company’s partners, including independent financial advisers, for their role in connecting customers with flexible services to safeguard their financial well-being.
“This award acknowledges the superb team at Asteron Life who are all working towards the aim of helping New Zealanders protect what matters most,” Willis said.
