AIA New Zealand, a life insurance company, announced that it had recently achieved the advanced GenderTick status.
The advanced status was given to the firm following its recent efforts in designing and implementing initiatives surrounding menopause. AIA NZ had previously implemented a Menopause Toolkit for its employees in order to raise awareness as well as provide training and support regarding menopause and perimenopause.
“An enormous thank you to the Learning & Organisational Development team, GEN Network and everyone else across AIA NZ involved in the many initiatives that go into demonstrating our commitment to #GenderEquality,” the firm said in its post on LinkedIn.
The GenderTick is an accreditation programme that was created in 2018 in order to allow organisations to showcase their commitment in the progression of gender equality in their workplaces. It features key indicators wherein organisations can show their compliance and leadership. These indicators are equal pay, leadership representation, flexible work and leave, gender-safe workplace, and a gender inclusive culture.
Assessment criteria for the accreditation consisted of two levels which were the standard criteria and the advanced criteria. For the standard criteria, organisations were expected to achieve progress in having a gender inclusive workplace. For the advanced criteria, they would need to encourage continued progression.
AIA NZ had achieved the standard GenderTick accreditation in 2020 and was the first insurer in Aotearoa New Zealand to do so.
