Coalition has announced the appointment of Allianz SE chief executive officer Oliver Bäte to its board of directors.
A longstanding executive at the Allianz Group, Bäte (pictured) has been the CEO of Allianz SE since 2015 after serving as chief financial officer and chief operating officer. Previously, he served in several leadership roles at McKinsey & Company, including director of the firm's European insurance and asset management practice.
Coalition CEO and co-founder Joshua Motta said Bäte's addition to the board reflects the company's commitment to technological innovation in the insurance industry.
“The cyber insurance market is always evolving, and having Oliver's insight and expertise on the industry, global operations, and long-term planning will be invaluable as we all seek to achieve an ambitious goal: to protect all those organisations that are currently unprotected,” Motta said.
Commenting on his appointment, Bäte said: “Today, businesses across the world are experiencing new types of risks, and our industry requires new thinking to address them. I am encouraged by Coalition's innovative approach to managing and mitigating cyber risk in today's digital world and am pleased to join Coalition's board of directors.”
Bäte will work closely with fellow board members:
The appointment of a new board member follows the launch of Coalition's suite of active insurance products in Australia with the backing from Allianz Australia, named as the Most Innovative Insurance Companies in Australia and New Zealand.
