AXIS Insurance has launched a new global business unit that consolidates cyber and technology operations.
The new global cyber and technology unit, which will be led by Dan Trueman, “will enable AXIS to more effectively deliver the full range of its cyber and technology insurance capabilities, underwriting expertise and claims service to clients and brokers around the world,” a release said.
Combining its US cyber, technology, media and miscellaneous professional liability businesses into one entity, AXIS said that the new unit is part of its professional lines division.
As global head of the global cyber and technology unit, Trueman will continue to report to AXIS Insurance North American professional lines president and professional lines global lead John Van Decker.
“We are launching this consolidated unit to ensure we effectively and efficiently deliver one single global approach to cyber and technology risks and thus increase the value that we provide to our clients and partners,” said Trueman. “Both cyber and technology are borderless risks and with this global unit, we can utilise the international lens we have, and the wide AXIS international footprint, to leverage the full scope of our underwriting expertise and claims services.”
Coinciding with the launch of the new unit, AXIS also announced the promotion of Drew Walter –who previously served as senior vice-president for AXIS Pro – to the newly created role of cyber and technology underwriting delivery head. In this new role, Walter will report to Trueman.
